Coloured tights are back and they’re back big time! This great accessory was innovated by Mary Quant in the 1960’s and 70’s when she experimented with unusual materials and playful, ‘subversive’ garments. Mary Quant’s sharp designs, her hot-pants, mini skirts and dresses, displayed a new sense of energy, fun and freedom. Since the V&A’s major retrospective of this celebrated icon of fashion in London, which is now in Glasgow at the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, coloured tights have seen a surge in popularity. We have a range of bright coloured tights in stock now and in a choice of seven stunning colours; bright blue, orange, shocking pink, turquoise, lime green, scarlet and purple. Also inspired by Quant are over knee ‘pop socks’ again in these stunning seven colours.

Checks and stripes feature on opaque cotton knit tights. Stripes are subtle combinations of black and burgundy-brown or white or, making more of a statement, narrow or wide rainbow stripes. Houndstooth checks in soft grey or red and cream are arty and elegant.

While coloured tights are making huge strides, socks remain a best-selling accessory and our range continues to expand. Our selection caters to all ages, personalities and sizes. Latest styles include the delightful ‘hedgerow and bee’ and ‘black coffee with sugar’ – a clever man’s sock featuring the appropriate scientific formulae. We also focus on texture and interesting weaves with self coloured socks in beautiful colours. Elsewhere, bold colours can be found to compliment your tights collection while intricate ‘sixties’ and optic patterns will provide great contrast.
